In the initial consultation, we complete a thorough Needs Analysis to determine the highest levels of functioning - not just the levels where your child is accurate, but the highest level where they can operate with independence, confidence and understanding. Given there is no conveyor-approach to learning at Fruition Tuition, because we respond individually to individuals, we have to begin by 'getting to know' the learner in order to work out how best support them. This is the reason why we begin with an initial consultation.
(If we did the same for everyone, all we would have to do is work out what 'page' or 'worksheet' with which to begin and what days suit you best. Then it would be the same for your child as for all the others from that point onwards.)
At Fruition Tuition we don't know what to tutor and how to provide that tuition until we have observed and analysed your child; then we can begin to map out what is needed for them as an individual.
We will analyse your child's approaches to learning - can they follow instructions, do they pay attention to detail, can they operate independently with confidence or do they need lots of prompting and guiding, how do they handle making a mistake, taking a risk and making an attempt, how do they respond to problem solving situations?
We assess their particular learning styles like verbal, auditory, kinesthetic and visual preferences, and their strengths and growth areas. We will determine the learner's needs, the most effective strategies to use, and recommend a course of action. Fruition Tuition is skilled to even determine if your child has eye fatigue or a tracking or focusing issue. A Needs Analysis enables us to source the cause(s) of the needs, to assess the appropriate starting levels where the learner can operate independently and successfully and to identify the specific strategies needed to be implemented - in order to optimise their success and enjoyment.
