Prep - Year 3

Sophia... 2 Years Old

Sophia has full hearing but her parents are both deaf, which means she gets very little sound stimulation from adults at home. Sophia's family decided to seek out tuition for Sophia to help develop pre-reading, number, speaking and listening skills. Her Grandma contacted Fruition after hearing Sherrin on the radio station 4BC.

When Sophia first came in she had limited language and would become distressed when her Mum left the room. After a few months at Fruition Sophia's Mum reported that she had moved from the 1-2 year old room up to the 3-4 year old room at play group. Many people had started commenting on Sophia's language development. Both Sophia's Mum and Grandma say "her progress is a result of coming to Fruition Tuition - it has really made a difference in our lives!"

Ben ... Year 2

Ben loves attending Fruition Tuition and he has benefited enormously from the results. His Mum comments that "Ben's confidence has gone through the roof" and "he is now willing to attempt all his school work, including homework." Ben is able to concentrate for greater periods of time and he is very pleased with his own efforts and successes. He was really proud to receive his certificate at the recent Fruition Awards Ceremony. Ben's Mum says that she is "absolutely impressed with Fruition . . . Fruition has made a world of difference for Ben and the classroom teacher is equally delighted with Ben's learning, attitude and progress." Success makes all the difference!

Brad and Laura ... Prep and Year 3

Brad and Laura have come to Fruition Tuition for extension work, stimulation and inspiration. Their Mother was concerned that Laura was losing her motivation for learning at school while her brother was keen to learn using the computers. Recently, their Mum commented that her children were "regaining their creativity and, therefore, their desire to learn and to do their best." Fruition is ensuring that Brad investigates and understands all the pre-reading and pre-number concepts like position (before, after, next, above, under, through etc) and order and sequence, so that he will be ready for year 1 next year. Laura is also happy now to accept that making a mistake is O.K.; it is, in fact, an opportunity to learn something new!

Braidon and Daniel ... Years 2 and 4

"I'm absolutely rapt in the process. My boys are really happy at Fruition. Braidon always tells me his results and is always excited by colouring in his progress on the Trophy Sheet. Daniel has made a real friend in Druce (manager) and I think that is really important. Daniel's teacher has noticed a real change in Daniel's attitude, skills and confidence. My only regret is not acting earlier."  Margaret

Primary School Years 4-6

Anna ... Year 6

"While Anna is a gifted child, she was anxious about making mistakes. She was a perfectionist. Fruition has developed her lateral application and thinking skills and now she is less frustrated and more relaxed. She enjoys the challenge of problem solving. She understands that making mistakes helps her learn new things. Her change of attitude and approach have enabled Anna to work to her potential and to enjoy the process." Anna's parents.

Edward ... Year 6

"Your program at Fruition has improved my standards no end. When I first went into your room, my spelling quota was less than 6 out of 30. Now it is 30 out of 30! In my class everyone thinks I'm a genius at maths. This would not be so if I hadn't gone to Fruition Tuition. Classes are now a lot easier and much more enjoyable than past years. Fruition has turned my attitude to school right around. I hope others get the same enjoyment and help from your courses as I have. Thanks a lot", from Edward . (Edward came to us as a reluctant, unmotivated Year 6 learner.)

Middle School Years 7-9

Tom ... Year 7

When Tom first came to us he was a frustrated learner who was beginning to develop a negative attitude towards Maths. When confronted with a new or difficult problem he would often panic and be unable to answer the question. "I am just so happy with Fruition. Tom is very confident in his work now and he is happier at school," said Tom's Mum. Tom is ready to do well this year.

Lily ... Year 8

Lily has completed work at Fruition Indooroopilly over the Christmas holidays and during Term 1. Her major focus was to develop Maths Basics. Lily has an excellent visual memory and she is able to recall facts and information well. Application and Problem Solving areas needed further development with emphasis given to understanding of the concepts behind the operations which she could replicate with ease. Lily was delighted to report an A on her Year 8 Maths test. "I am so excited. This is the first A in Maths for me!" Lily has made a great start to Year 8.

Jackie and Danielle ... Year 9

Jackie and Danielle are two close friends who came to Fruition at the beginning of 2008. Schooling had not been a positive experience for these girls. In fact, they had been expelled several times each and struggled to pass even the most basic of subjects.  From as young as grade three, they were caught up with the wrong crowd and lost interest in learning.  At the beginning of this year, Danielle and Jackie made a decision to start afresh.  Fruition was able to identify the best strategies to help these girls and set them on a path of success.  After one month of tuition, both Jackie and Danielle were ecstatic with their incredible progress - they had passed a science exam for the first time at highschool and received a B for their English assignments!   Thanks to Fruition, the future now holds endless possibilites for these great girls.

Cian ... Year 9

Cian, in his mum's words was "struggling big time last year." He was not passing his Maths exams and he felt miserable. After working hard at Fruition Yeronga, Cian was proud to report that he received 29 / 33 on his recent Maths test at St Laurie's. "Fruition has helped me so much; I understand the Basics and Algebra and I have built up my confidence. Now I know that I am capable of good results in Maths. I really enjoy learning at Fruition." Well done, Cian! You are ready to be all that you can be.

Senior School Years 10-12

Chris ... Year 10

Chris' Mum made a call to one of our learning centres last week to tell us just how things were going with her son . . . "We have two older boys and have spent years going to other 'mobs', but your 'mob' is the only one that has made any difference. Chris has never had a good report card until now, plus the comments were so much better and more positive. The tutor Chris has for English is brilliant at encouraging him and valuing his ideas. The computer work in Maths has been fantastic. I am recommending you guys to everyone!"

Ben ... Year 10

Ben moved from a C+ to an A in his English subject in just three terms. He used one of Fruition's excellent English teachers for just one hour of tuition per week. Ben says "Fruition Tuition has helped me acquire the skills and the confidence to gain consistent A's in English. When I was not achieving, English was a chore; now I find it exhilarating."

Andrew ... Year 12

Andrew had experienced massive difficulties in Year 11 and 12 Maths B. In the Winter Holidays, he completed an Intensive Maths B Course and continued with one-to-one tutoring throughout Term 3. He received an overall B+ for his next exam and excelled in the Complex Reasoning Section. Andrew and his parents are absolutely delighted. "It has meant so much to Andrew."

Adult

 Jess ... Aged 23

Jess is an adult student with 'non-specific brain damage'.  At twenty-three, she was unable to read or write and had no numeracy skills.  Since childhood, Jess had been told time and again the depressing news that she had almost no capacity to learn.  After two months of coming to the Everton Hills learning centre, a whole new world of possibilities have opened up for Jess.  She now knows the entire alphabet and is currently learning to blend sounds together.  For the first time in her life, she is looking forward to visiting the library, borrowing books and reading.  Jess' mum was estatic last week telling us that "Fruition is the only place where Jess has been given an opportunity to learn; everyone else just wrote Jess off and put her in the too hard basket." With the help of Fruition, Jess now has a bright future ahead of her and can't wait to read Harry Potter one day.   Fantastic work Jess!!!

Landon

Landon came to Fruition to help him prepare for a test that if successful, would enable him to work for the Emergency Services as a firefighter. Fruition was able to reinforce and strengthen his foundational basis of Maths and Literacy, as well as having tuition for exam preparation and exam techniques. Landon says, "I know that I wouldn't have passed the test if it wasn't for Fruition's help and encouragement. Now I have the job I want!"
